At Chellaston Opticians we aim to provide high quality, professional eyecare, in a personal manor. We carry out full eye examinations for everyone from infants to senior citizens, for both private and NHS patients. All elements of the eye test and supplementary tests, including retinal photography, visual fields and tonometry, are all carried out by registered Optometrists. We cater for all contact lens requirements and the dispensing of all forms of spectacle corrections.

Emphasis is placed on taking time with patients to ensure all their individual needs are addressed in a relaxed environment.

Chellaston History

Chellaston Opticians was established in 2006 by Optometrists David Strachan and Bill Tegala.

Our opticians have over 40 years experience practicing mainly in the local area as well as the Caribbean and New Zealand. Both are fully qualified Optometrists and members of both the College of Optometrists and Association of Optometrists.

Their aim of setting up an independent practice was to provide high quality eye care in a personal, friendly manner to the local community. This was to focus on time being taken to ensure the individual needs of each patient are fully addressed.

With Chellaston Opticians now a thriving business we have been able to open a second practice in Borrowash. Anthony Stephens Opticians was purchased in April 2015 and re-branded as Borrowash Opticians. This involved a full refurbishment and the introduction of new modern testing equipment. The same standards of high quality eye care at Chellaston are also offered at Borrowash.
